Rising star Kate Mara has landed a role in the blockbuster Iron Man 2. It was also a big day for her sister Rooney who has been cast in the new Nightmare on Elm Street remake. More details after the break…
The casting list for Iron Man 2 seems to betting bigger by the day. It already includes Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Jon Favreau (also the Director), Mickey Rourke, Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Garry Shandling and John Slattery, Clark Gregg and now Kate Mara. We’re not complaining as we happen to regard Ms. Mara very highly.
She is mostly known for a nice turn in Brokeback Mountain as Heath Ledger’s (Ennis Del Mar) daughter and for Shooter, in which she starred alongside Mark Wahlberg. There is no official word yet on which character she will play in Iron Man 2.
Iron Man 2 is out on May 7, 2010.
Kate’s sister Rooney, more of a new-comer than Kate, has also landed herself a significant new role. She will play what is essentially going to be the Nancy character in the new Nightmare On Elm Street movie. Expect much screaming and lots of Red Bull.
