The international trailer for ‘Mr. Nobody’ is now online. This interesting sci-fi(ish) art house/indie flick stars Jared Leto, Diane Kruger and Rhys Ifans and looks to be a cross between ‘Eternal Sunshine…’ and ‘The Fountain’. Check it out after the break…
It’s pretty obvious that a film is going to be a little hard to market when the best way to describe it is that it looks as if the plot falls somewhere between the genius of Charlie Kaufman’s “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and Darren Aronofsky’s “The Fountain”. Check out the trailer below to get an idea about what we mean.
“Mr. Nobody” stars Jared Leto, Diane Kruger, Rhys Ifans, Sarah Polley and Juno Temple. The film was written and directed by Jaco van Dormael.
Despite being almost virtually unheard of outside of the lead role for Jared Leto, this film isn’t a small indie production. It had an estimated $47 million budget (according to IMDB), so someone has some serious investment tied up in hoping that this very surreal looking film is a success.
I’m quite excited to see this as the trailer was fascinating and showcased some stunningly beautiful cinematography, which is always an attractive proposition. Not quite sure what to expect of the plot as a whole, but this is one to look forward to for sure.
Synopsis: Nemo Nobody leads an ordinary existence at his wife’s side, Elise, and their 3 children until the day when reality skids and he wakes up as an old man in the year 2092. At 120, Mr. Nobody is both the oldest man in the world and the last mortal of a new mankind where nobody dies anymore. But that doesn’t seem to interest or bother him very much. The only questions that preoccupy him in the present is whether he lived the right life for himself, loved the woman whom he was supposed to love, and had the children whom he was meant to have… now his purpose is to find the right answer.
