Ronald D. Moore’s ambitious tv project “Virtuality” will air on FOX next Friday June 26th at 8pm EST. While it’s unclear whether “Virtuality” will just remain a failed TV show pilot that gets burned off or whether it still has a shot at getting picked up as a series, it’s definitely worth your time.
It boasts an impressive cast of talent in front of and behind the camera, and deals with a lot of intriguing philosophical themes. See the cast explain the ambitious show, their characters and what makes it special in the video below.
FOX has also launched an official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Edge-of-Never/108892382680) where they will stream a couple of “Virtuality” webisodes, which are scenes from the reality show within the actual plot of “Virtuality”.
Synopsis: “Virtuality” is about the crew of the spaceship ‘Phaeton’ who are approaching a vital stage of their epic 10-year journey through outer space. With the weight of the world on their shoulders and their lives being taped for a reality show back on Earth, the pressure is intense. To keep the crew members sane, there is a virtual reality technology device installed on the ship. With the help of that particular device, the crew members can be anyone they want, anywhere at any time, despite living in a closed environment in the lonely vastness of space. Complications arise when they realize there is a glitch in the system which inflicts damage on the psyche of the crew members and unleashes a virus on the ship.
